questions regarding PF TB on a 3.5 swap
questions regarding PF TB on a 3.5 swap
Okay, I still get this bad bucking at low rpm, like loowww in first gear, it is unavoidable alot of the time...if im trying to drive slowly in a parking lot the car bucks on and off as if im pressing and letting off the gas. I have to clutch-in to prevent from looking retarded and having the tires spin.
I dont know if anyone remembers, but I could NOT get the TPS in spec on the PF TB, and i tried many times. I forget the actual specs, but its definitely off, and I tried opening the TB with the idle adjustment screw but once I got it in spec, the throttle was open so much that the car was idling way too high and I had to close it back up a little bit.
Another orger told me he uses the path finder throttle position sensor. Is this what I should be using? I still have it...and I cant see a difference except that the PF TPS is slightly thicker. If using the maxima TPS is right then I'm out of ideas except that maybe its bad, even though its only a few years old.
Is the fact that the path finder throttle body is so large make it too sensitive on the gas pedal? Would a vacuum leak cause this type of thing? I just replaced the old MAF with a used one which fixed the stalling and hesitation the bad maf was giving me and the car felt like it idled really well (for having no IACV) for about a week but now the exhaust sounds very lumpy again like i've got aftermarket cams or something.
I just bought a VAFC2 so I should be able to monitor some things soon and have more solid information..

You just don't hook it up lol. There's no vacuum port on the intake manifold for it, so I need to tap and thread a hole to run a vacuum line to it, and then I have to get a mid pipe for the intake I can run a line off of too. There goes my somewhat clean engine bay
and probably some hissing noises added.
I forget I don't have one hooked up most of the time though...

i dont know, it just does...lol. The iacv helps when the car is warming up I believe it feeds more air to the motor until its to operating temperature..and I think with the A/C too, even though I havent really had any problems with that, an occasional dip in rpms when coming to a stop, but nothing major.
okay back on topic, i need to do some research regarding my 3.5 w/ PF TB and cold start issue/idle cuz i have to hold the throttle open for about a min or 2 so the car doesnt shut off.....remote start is pointless when used in the morning.....
Adjust your idle manually. Use the screw attached to the throttle bottle. Loosen the nut and turn the screw clockwise until you get to your desired RPM. I'm running at around 900 RPM just because if I drop to 600 it's a little rough. It's really that simple. Cold starts take a little longer but you shouldn't have any problems.

Try this
I had a similar issue with my pf tb (3.0/pftb/mevi) .In my case I completely backed off the throttle plate adjustment screw(Make sure the throttle plate has no tension from the cables).Tightened up the tp adj screw nut. Then I adjusted my pf tb tps to .5volts VOILA .Fyi I also have a working iacv to help with the parking lot jerks.lol
