vacum lines 00vi

I know...and yes i did search but ended up more confused after reading a hundred different post about how to hook up the vacum lines.

Ive got everything installed for my 00vi and am very confused about where to run what line. Heres the run down on my set up: 4th gen lower, iacv, and throttle body. 5th gen upper, rear coilpacks and valve cover.

to those of you that have done this sway where did you get the vacume for the IACV? is it the top bung above the throttle body or the large one on the right of the engine that alot of people run to the brake boster. what about the left bung on the VI controls...shoud that be run to the mid pipe or left open? I know you need to plug the one on the right.

Thanks for the help...and dont flame to bad for the re re re re re re post....

For the IACV, get a larger nipple (one that fits the size of hose you're using on the IACV, I suggest 5/8" hose and matching nipple sizes for the plate and manifold) and put it in the location currently occupied by a nipple between the manifold and firewall. It's right behind where the throttlebody would be on the 5th gen upper manifold. Just cut the old one off, bore out the hole big enough for the new nipple, and JB weld the new one in (or do a perfect sized hole with threads, whichever you want).

The one at the other end of the manifold, like down on the passenger's side, use for the brake booster line. For EVAP, use the nipple on top of the manifold right near the throttlebody (you may choose to install a new nipple here, also, so it's facing the correct direction). The two nipples on top of the manifold in the middle can be used as you see fit, whatever needs vacuum (i.e. EGR, etc.). The only things that should be running to the midpipe are the lines that ran there stock (the IACV line, the crankcase hose, and the little one that's used by the FPR or whatever).

On the VIAS, you do not need to hook anything up to the nipple that actually controls the VIAS. You can choose to plug up the one that controls the swirl valves if you want, though, assuming you're not using swirl valves in your lower manifold and you have the swirl valve solenoid on your VIAS (some don't, mine included). To tell the difference, the one with the black plug is for the VIAS and the brown plug is for the swirl valves.

Any other questions?

I have to nipples on my VIAS. I knew that you dont hook up the one on the right (if your looking at it) because thats for swirl valves. But I was under the impression that the one on the left helped to open the VIAS (if its open and you hold your finger over it, it wont close.) I thought for sure someone said to run it to the intake so that the vacume there would open the valve....

You do not need to run a line to the intake, you can simply leave it open. The vacuum is generated internally in the solenoid straight from the manifold. When it sucks in, it's just to let air in period, doesn't have to be from anywhere specific.
