It's Baaacckkk...

My site is back from the dead! Unfortunately I'm a poor college student, so it is hosted on Geocities for the time being. This means it has a very low data transfer-per-hour amount, so if a page doesn't load, come back in an hour. It's a little touchy at the moment due to it's extreme size and small hosting area, so let me know of any problems you encounter.

The new address (temporary, I hope) is:

http://www.geocities.com/tatankoz/

Nice, I won't waste any of your precious bandwidth but have you updated recently? I remember visiting your page back when I owned a 00VI... was a sad day when I had to let it go.

I don't expect bandwidth to be too much of an issue anyway. Most people going to the site will only look at a couple pages/images and I don't expect there to be 20 people viewing the site at any given time or anything like that.

It has not been updated since probably May or June, maybe even longer. No point in updating it if it isn't online, right?

To anyone that uses the site, be advised there may be some downtime next week. I completely forgot about an old desktop computer I have in the basement of my parent's house that I plan on refurbishing a little and setting up as a server. The site is going to be hosted there vs. Geocities, so there may be a day or two where the site is down. It won't be before Wednesday, though. I suggest getting any info you need before then if you're planning on using any of it over Thanksgiving.

Yeah, so how does that work...do you pay me for publicizing you or do I pay you for the use of your pictures?

No problems here - I'm easy - and cheap...

It was fun seeing the pix - heck, that box is back in the car while I try to figure out the 3.5... One advantage of running NA is when you hit fuel-cut, nothing pops or explodes like when spraying.

Uggh. Well, fortunately, my "server" should be up and running tonight, but won't be ready for duty until after I return from VA on Wednesday or Thursday. Until then, I apologize

You still can, just have to be patient, unfortunately.

Running into snags with my "server" It was seemingly just virus-infected so I wiped it clean and went to install a new copy of XP but the hard drive won't format properly

It's cool, gearset threads and old turbo builds gave me my fix.

Haha, yeah, good way to spend an evening of reading.

Server is currently up and running, tons of software is being downloaded and installed tonight

EDIT: Software installed, server active. No site files on it, though, and I can't seem to access the computer from another computer Anyone have any clue how this stuff works? I have server software installed and it appears to be working as it should, but I can't seem to access it anywhere except computers on my network.

Try this address out: http://71.169.114.185/ . Let me know if it works for you (should be a generic Abyss Web Server page).

If you want to know if its working from the outside do it by proxy. http://proxy.org/

I had to enable the DMZ on the router for the server before it would work.

I'm not sure I follow exactly what I'm to be doing here, Jim. You mean enter that address in the upper right corner where the box is? That didn't seem to work for me, nor did the site it redirected me to, so I guess my server can't be accessed outside my network yet. Hmm. Enable the DMZ? Not sure I know what you mean there. I'm very new to the whole server thing.

I already configured my network settings on the server to accept outside requests, and went into my router and configured that to accept outside requests as well. I'm stumped as to what else to do.

Yes, enter your address in the upper right corner and then the browse when it redirects you, if no go your server is not working.

First what router are you using? When I access my router I see a tab for "Applications and gaming and in there is a DMZ tab. Enable it and input the ip of your server, then save.

Even though port 80 was open I still couldn't access until the DMZ was activated. Try it.

I'm headed to VA in a few hours, but I will try that on Wednesday when I get back. Thanks for the tip. I'm using a Netgear router, I couldn't tell you the exact model but I went to portforward.com last night to get instructions on how to access the router and set port 80 to be open for HTTP access. I'll try the DMZ thing if I can find it then.

For the rear tails, you simply remove the outer housings, tape off the lower half, and spray the top half with a couple coats of Testor's Transparent Candy Apple Red (I think that's what it's called...it's for model cars, planes, etc.). The headlights and clearance lights (the ones next to the headlights) drop right in.

It would appear Verizon blocks port 80 on my connection, so my home server is a no-go. Sorry guys. Geocities until I get the money or someone offers to host it for me.
