But the interesting thing is that I remember them talking about doing a VQ35 maxima. And they are looking into being able access my frankenstein early G35 ecu also. If it's a go, this might be a very nice ecu flash option for the maxima crowd.

Old thread on their forums but it lists what this can do
http://www.cobbforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31352

There's a thread on my350z forums (tuning section) about them asking for beta testers. so at least progress is again being seen.

Post about them planning on offering this to every vq / vk powered car. Don't know if that means VQ30 though.

This and Osiris sound very good, but the Maxima crowd would probably be the last to see it...

UpRev doesn't seem that much in a hurry to offer maxima stuff.

Here's a quote from Cobb in the same thread I posted:

Nietzsche - Yes, we had. We've successfully worked with ECUs out of the B15 Sentra, 3.5L Altima, Maxima, Xterra, Frontier, Murano, Pathfinder, Quest (woot!), and all the current Infiniti models.

HOWEVER, developing mapping for all those models is another story all together. One issue is time, the other is having good access to all the various trim level and transmission types to develop the mapping. As time goes on, I'm sure that'll improve. Initially we're focused on a few Nissan models and I'm sure we'll expand as we are able to.

Cheers,
Trey @ COBB

True on UpRev...I plan on sending them a message soon, to get an update on anything, if any.

Would you say that Cobb is the same as Osiris then?

What's the price on the Cobb? I just did a quick search o that site, and couldn't find a section with pricing.

Guys I know this companies have been thrown out alot as far as a tuning solution for us. But I talked to AAM in DEC 07 and they said they would have one buy the spring time( March or April.) As anyone else heard this or just me. I used them for my 350z.

AAM has been doing flashes for a while. Identical to TS. They both use the techtom flashing software.

Uh yeah. But I trying to be nice. The question is from an enduser standpoint, where to adjust? Church's dyno in Ca has got good gains with the Z/G guys using the UpRev stuff but they do it on a dyno and play around with it. We would need a graph of someone's modded caming timing curve to copy it. Or else we are destined to plug and play until it results in something good. A time consuming thing IMHO

I would just want to mirror stock Z/G cam timing initially and go from there, after which I'd rent a dyno for an hour and go to town. The capability is all I need.

Well it looks like they want me to send me one for beta testing. So I'll have to see if it can 1) read the cam angles and 2) see if they can be altered. (but I doubt I'd be able to determine it yet as I think they just want to know if their pre-modded maps will upload). Will probably be a Z map though.

Right now they are planning on sending me one just to see if their unit can work with my ecu. It accesses the OBDII connector so the physical connection is not a problem (ala UTEC having to actually install inbetween the ecu and wiring harness). It's whether or not the unit will communicate and accept the mapping. Even if it doesn't work, they said to send the ecu info over and they will try to make it work.

If this similar to the Maximas, you guys have more hope then what UpRev is offering.

So, what's the verdict, is the early G ECU similar to an A33B/A34 hybrid?

Dunno. If it works on my early G, then I suspect there's hope for the maxima crowd. They have stated they are targeting all VQ powered Nissans.

Subscribing,. Got to page 6, no time, but this sounds sweet, I really like alot of the features, just curoius what the end price of both the unit itself & streetTUNER will be. I also like that it allows for shared maps, I geuss I'm going to have to get somebody matching rev-up cam's.

So... any news on this? Looks like Cobbsport has pushed this aside and is working on something else.
