3.5 leak
3.5 leak
When I did the 3.5 swap I decided to leave on the 3.5 upper oil pan (what a big mistake). Since some of the wholes didn't line up with the tranny and I couldn't get the cps to ready the timing ring right, I decided to swap over 3.0 pan. After I installed 3.0 pan and got the car running I had a real big oil leak on both sides of the oil pan (right at the corners by the crank pulley). So i took everything off again replaced the two half moon seals re sealed it and started it back up......got the same damn leak in the same damn spots. I'm thinking of just having nissan do it. Any body have this same problem or any input?
The pans should bolt up exactly the same to the trans, IIRC.
Did you clean the oil pan and block mating surfaces well when you did a reseal? Check for any possible warpage (though I can't possibly see how) or cracks in the pan?

Yea I cleaned the surface several times and thoroughly. I don't see how its possible for there to be any warpage on the 3.0 upper oil pan because I used on my 3.0 motor and had no issues. I do know that the inner timing chain cover sits about 1/16 of an inch above the bottom of the motor (on both sides). I'm pretty sure thats where its leaking from but I think I'm just gonna bring it down to the dealer.
