thanks alot guys. I'm going to go mess with it in a bit when it cools off. I've got my fingers crossed that the adjustments will work. I'm hoping that changing the vtec setting will make the difference like maybe its just not reading that HVT map at all since it doesnt sense that I'm going into vtec.

very awesome it works now!!!! huge thanks to everyone who helped especially eddy and mr.gtr_rider.
Ive got alot of tinkering to do..its pretty hard without the rpm readout.
The problem was that I didnt have the setting entered to tell it to switch over to the wide/high map so it just wasnt at all. WHEW.
I read the optimal range to have it at is mid 13's..is that still correct? It got pretty lean at a few points (14.5) after my adjustments so I tried to richen it out until I can really take some time to figure it out.

thanks again guys...

your welcome meng! That's what the org is for (assuming you're not an annoying post-*****), we help each other out, lol

When you're done with it, take a screen-shot of the a/f curve, let us know what gear it was, and the starting/ ending RPMs. After all this time, you better show off that masterpiece of a tune, lol.

FYI, I had my a/f tuned basically at 13.8-14.0 the whoooole way, lol. but then again, its kinda hot where u are. JUST to be on the safer side of things, I'd tune for 13.6-13.8.

haha its not hot in florida man??? I'll shoot for mid to high 13's then. I'm going to tune it with a friend tomorrow.
I have been tuning in 2nd gear (3k to 6500), not sure if thats the proper gear but its the easiest.

Yea, should be good to tune in 3rd as 4th is a little more dangerous.

yea def 3rd gear for street-tuning (4th gear for street tuning is simply pocking the reeper with a stick ). 3rd gear puts more of a load on the engine to get a more consistent a/f curve, but also, the gear is long enough to get enough resolution to be able to guesstimate the RPM points along the log. Empty highway is a must here for obvious reasons, as 3rd gear will have you knocking at 3-digit speeds.

i see i see. Just as long as my corrections in 3rd gear dont put me too lean in 2nd gear or vis-versa.

Dont worry. If anything you'll be slightly richer in the shorter gears, but no big deal.

At least thats how it is with boost. I notice in my car, the a/f from 2nd gear is usually .3 richer than 3rd. and 3rd is usually .3-.4 richer. But thats boost though , dont take it into consideration for your tuning.

High 13's is a touch lean past the power sweet spot. I'd raise FP if possible and run a slightly richer a/f so you can still have the benefit of indirect timing advance.

thanks. So shoot for mid 13's then maybe a little lower. What should I be raising the FP to? Fuel pressure remains the same at idle as it does when driving right? cause I just adjust it at idle.

Chillin where did you buy you vafc2 from? I'm in the market for one and trying to find the best price.

haha...just a little? I'm logging a/f all the way to redline for tuning...I made a 4th gear pull the other night, and hit the rev limiter at 134. I can redline in 3rd gear on most of the 2 lane country back roads around here...but there aren't many places I can redline 4th gear, and no place to do so safely. The resolution of the a/f curve in a 4th gear pull is awesome...but, skinny road + 134 +having to turn = FTL. Needless to say, I'll be doing my tuning in 3rd from now on

thats what I finished with today. It could use some more tweaking I'm sure.(i'll let yall tell me that though). few spots where it dips down into the high 12's.
I wasn't sure what to bump the fpr up to so its right under 60psi. I can't tell how much of a difference the tune as made. the most I've taken out at any spot is about 10 points maybe.

why do i get the feeling that the dip into high 12s is right as it goes into 4000rpm+? Anywho, are you seriously running that much FP? damn! The most I ran was 55psi. Good stuff though, I bet its a hell of an improvement over how it was from stock.

I'll perfect it some more and try to get it flatter.
I thought you said you ran over 60 psi! I'll bring it back down to 55...I just wanted to increase the timing and obviously dont know wtf im doing lol.

haha seriously.
I have the SSIM so no vias activation. Plus I remember reading the vias actually closes and then reopens (or vis versa) and there was no way to do that with the vias where it would only be triggering that signal once.

You would need a window switch for the VIAS to work properly on the 3.5
