fans not work with EU board E

I got my Eu up and running just fine this afternoon and i followed dandys write up but for some reason My fans arent coming on and my water temps climbed to 190 where i just shut it off.

I have heard of one other org member having this issue and he just cut the wire and isnt using the water temp. http://forums.maxima.org/all-motor/5...ease-help.html

I would rather find a way to make use of it if possible. Do any of you gents have any ideas on how to make this work?

Thanks
will

I changed one of the Jumper settings inside on the EU board to make my fans activate.

Ok i just tried both jumper settings and it doesnt seem to work for some reason. I am going to try to go down in software to 2.0 and see if that changes anything.

How many if any guys are using an eu with a board type e? if you are how did you get around this issue and still have the water temp values recorded?

thats what i plan on doing. I'll give you a call later today and run some of this stuff by you. I did notice that i think version e has more jumpers then what is listed in dandys write up.

OK so i just opened my board to check out some stuff before i call zach and i noticed that i have 21 jumpers in here, which is more then the amount that danady has listed in his write up. The 21st jumper is set to 1-2 so i'm not sure if i should open it and see what it does.

Last I knew, using either "open" or "1-2" on JP13 would always work depending on the sensor type in the car (as mentioned in my writeup). I'm not aware of any difference in that regard with board E unless someone can definitively prove otherwise.

JP21 I can't remember exactly what it does (was added in version E) but I called Greddy on it a while back and was told to leave it in the default position, which I did and had no issues (on an install on a 98). IIRC it was something related to the I/J settings (ie another add/trim switch or something).

Only one of my three EU installation manuals mentions JP21 (the newest, obviously). It says:
Injector Input / Output Signal CH1~6
This jumper will Configure the Injector Input/Output Signal Ch1~6.
Set to "1-2" when using Injector Adj. Map to trim and add fuel, and set to "OPEN" to add only.
Funny thing is that it doesn't list it in the jumper chart, but only in the area where they are all explained.

If you want dandy i could make some videos showing you what is going on. Is there any type of software you would like for me to use or anything in particular?

My car drives just fine with the water temp wire not attached to the EU. It has developed a slight hesitation which is only present in 1st and 2nd gear at 900 rpm with a slow application of throttle. i'm not sure what it is, but ill try to figure it out.

I got my water temp working, i taped the sensor like normal but then i cut the wire going to the EU and i added a quick connect there. At 205f the fans kick on and its been working for about 20mins in near 80 degree heat.

It might have been a path of least resistance issue or something that was keeping it from working before. I'll keep on testing it to make sure it works constantly.

Zach i will be calling you later tonight, i ran into another small issue.
