my buddy has a 99 with a DE-K swap and he replaced the 00VI with a usim and he cant get it to start any advice, electronic egr have anything to do with this?

 

why he use the regular IM, isnt that like making it a regular De again?... did he check all his grounds, and make sure all his clips are plugged in

 

Ummm yea you know the whole point of a de-k is basically the VI right? In any case yes tell him to go over his connections.

 

he gave it to a guy plus some cash for a 3.5, are there grounds involved in swaping a IM? I cant remember its been awhile since my MEVI days

 

What exactly is causing it to not start? No fuel, no spark?

Any codes for stuff he may have forgotten to swap over or plug back in when he (quite sadly) put the USIM on his DE-K?

 

Can someone tell me were to buy the mevi. I want it for my 1st gen vqswap. I want a little more power. Help please!!!!

well the injectors gets grounded on the IM, but with the 00Vi, the grounds are on the timing chain side of the motor. other than that i dont believe there are any other grounds there, so now check connectors. when i did my swap, i forgot the speed sensor connector, so its easy to miss connectors.

 

will it just not turn over at all or it just wont stay running? if its just a problem where it doesnt idle, how did he take care of the switching back and forth between the IACV?

 

he did have a IAVC plate now its just bolted to the usim I am going to go over there today becasue I think he has more than likly missed something somewhere

 

purple conecter on the IAVC, has no plug on the wiring harness what is it?

 

It's IACV.

A32 or A33?

 

A32 IAVC A33 sub harness

 

IACV.

It's for either the PS or AC idle-up solenoid. You don't need it, but it'll work better with it. Obviously you don't have the wiring or connector, so don't worry about it.
