I just put a 06 motor in my 5.5gen cause my old motor blew. In the process of swapping parts over someone noticed that the place you was suppose to put the cps was diffrent....so they drilled a hole on the top of the tranny and placed it there....

At first the car wouldnt start.......now it starts but hesitates and when its on the tach is not working.....it just stays at zero....

The CKPS isn't lined up correctly, which is why you have no tach and a hard start.

On top? Can you take a pic? From what I can see in the FSM, in the '06 it's in the same place, on the front; Merlyn and I also installed an '06 trans in his A33B, CKPS POS was in the same exact location.

Sure it was an '06 Maxima engine? You say '6.5' gen (the '06 is a 6th gen), so do you mean an '07?

 

I meant to put 6th gen....it said 06 on da motor when i got it....so its actually a 6th gen motor....but i will post pics tomorrow or pm ur number and i will send u pics

 

Agreed, the cam sensor isn't being read properly, eventually it will fire up in backup mode off of the cam sensors, but it will run like complete *** and no tach.
