question?
I'm new to the vq scene. i saw the cosworth heads and didn't find any info or reviews on it. I was wondering what ya'lls thoughts would be on the cosworth heads w/ JWT c8 cams.
would it be beneficial on a NA set up?
heres a link to the heads

you don't need to bump a thread from 2 posts down back to the top of the forum a mere 4 hours after it was posted. this forum gets a couple posts a day in it, your thread is not going to get lost in the shuffle. do not do that again.
VQ35 heads are some of the best flowing factory heads in existence on any normal street car (by that I mean short of supercars). unless you are building a race car and by that i mean a RACE car and you are willing to pay through the nose to get every single ounce of power you can out of the VQ35 NA, there is no way I would spend the money on touching the heads of a VQ35 let alone get the cosworth heads for it.
Cams are another story stock VQ cams are very mild. I don't know the specs on the C8 specifically, but cams are very worthwhile on a VQ assuming you have lofty power goals either NA or boosted.

thanks for the info, i didn't know its that serious for a measely bump.
i'm not sure of the specs of the c8's but travis used them on barry's car which is another sentra vqswap.
i was told from another member on my sentra site that going +1mm on the ports wouldn't be beneficial on a NA motor.
so if any more info that can be posted it would be great.
thanks again.

The Cosworth VQ35 heads are a piece of art but the price is steep. If you can P & P the heads yourself and have the valve seat bored by a machine shop you would save a bundle and have better flowing heads, but this kind of job take countless hours. I have a VQ 30DEK and I did an extensive P & P jobs on the VQ DEK heads, I then took them to a machine shop where they replaced the valve guide for manganese/bronze one but they also increase the valve seat by 1 mm ( this was done on a CNC ) The heads where also mounted with HR spring & double shim. I should know within the next month how well the heads flow now but there is no doubt in my mind that they will flow much better than before.
Adding aggressive cam would definitely give you more HP & TQ's, how much more ? well this depend on what other mods you have but I think a 15 HP should be close to reality, with a good tuning and P & P on the heads I think that should be in the 25-30 HP + range.
I will know for sure only when my car is running and dyno'd.
Hope it help.
Cheers

Check with Cosworth for details: http://www.cosworthusa.com/
Their NA power gains were - impressive. Their flow bench numbers were also impressive.
Check on one of our member's experiences with porting the VQ35 heads and racing N/A with his car.
