00VI Measurement Request

Could anybody who has an 00VI take some measurements for me? I'm looking for as many of these measurements as possible:

-Height of manifold (from where it meets the lower manifold to the highest point)
-Height of manifold again (from the bottom of the "collector" at the back to the highest point)
-Hood clearance between manifold and hood (if possible...would be difficult to measure I would think)

Knowing even just the first measurement would be very helpful, because then I can estimate the others if I need to. I won't say why I want to know

I'll try to get the first 2 for you tonight. I'm in the middle of removing swirl valves from a lower and I have an extra Upper laying around. I'll let you know.

Thanks! If either of you has a lower manifold OFF a car (for easy measurement) I wouldn't mind getting the height of that as well.

Oooo....sounds like someone has some sort of a project going on. I'm definitely going to stay tuned to this one.

If I weren't halfway around the world from my car I would definitely help you out.

Alrighty Pat, this is what I got for you.

From LIM to highest point

About 6 inches

From rear collector bolt holes (could be removed for clearance if needed) to highest point

About 9 inches, maybe 9 and 1/2"

Hood clearance (take the height, about 1.5", and minus the inch for the hood support, was 3/4")

About 3/4"

Very nice, Kyle. I appreciate your efforts. So it looks like ~6.5" of safe clearance from the lower manifold to the hood.

I guess my next question is, who knows someone with VQ30DET intake manifold parts?

I have one, but it's been ground down a little bit for hood clearance. I'll get some measurements when I get a chance.

I have an idea going on, not a project yet. I'm determining whether or not it's feasible first, then actually trying it out. Won't happen until the spring sometime if it's determined it can possibly work.

Just saying, don't get your hopes up yet

I appreciate it. I really need measurements of the LOWER HALF of the UPPER manifold, specifically.
