WHY???????? so you have no top end power and torque drops sharp after 5000 worse than the stock 3.0L IM?

00vi is the best manifold for a 3.0L

show me a dyno that says any other factory VQ manifold makes more power and torque under the curve all mods being equal.

 

ssim > 00vi.

I have a 3.5 bottom and ported/built 3.0 heads with the SSIM and 5.5 gen LIM. It is A LOT stronger than when I had the 00VI installed.

 

It has topend for days the 3'.5 mani good bends flows better than the 3.0 + that plenum is ment for topend the vlocit stacks in the plenum i liked it + it.s till i get the 3.5 in so i had the parts laying around..... took out the secondary butterfly and shaved down the injector humps on the lim.. And set up all the t/b stuff for the 70mm t/b that set up is ment for top end trust

 

Did you send it to get the ssim mod or did you do it?

I have a 3.5 IM on a 3.0, that plus the larger TB have really shinned when the car gets in its stride. But to be honest on a 3.0 i cant really see the benefit of doing all that port work over just using an 00vi for maybe 4-5whp at most, most of that is just coming from the IM just being larger.

 

How big is you t/b?

 

Standard 70mm VQ35 TB.

-stock 3.0L heads vs ported 3.0L heads (better flow)
-00vi (w60mm TB) vs SSIM (w70mm TB)


krismax put the 00vi vs SSIM on a 3.5L theory to rest long time ago.
SSIM is clearly better on a 3.5L (but not vice versa)

You're wrong.

That dyno was done with a completely stock IM with no BOP or SSIM.

What happens when you make peak power earlier? Once you move the powerband to the right, you can make even more power. SSIM = top end.

 

I used a Vafc2 and a aem uego.. 3rd gear pulles on the 210 freeway.. Got a/f ragio.. Tight at 12.8.. the only thing when its cold.. I have to make it richer or it starts ping.. I have to get something that will let me mess with the timing.. Emu.. .. Or aem standalone.. I ran down vq35 in that vq30 de.. G35, 350z and a 5.5 gen.. 6speed on a roll.. All on a closed course .. im going to swap to a vq35 soon i have it just siting.. Just need to buy a hoist.. And need a free weeken.. The manifold was just something i was prepping so it would be Abel.. to get all the check engine lights off..and not worry about.. Random codes.. Im not running a iacv.. Or any evap so i had 2 codes but got it right..

Been planing on this swap for almost a year now have the upper and lower 3.5 mani just wanna pick our brain a lil wat injectors did u end up using

 

Stock VQ35 injectors no need to go bigger than them.

 

How much $$$$ is viper willing to back up his unfound claims? I'm up for putting down some $ on this. I wouldn't mind using my heads on a 3.0 if there was money to be made off of it....



Till then, viper can keep trying to play the honda game and spinning the p1ss out of the motor to make hum-drum, tq-less power.

Port the exhaust make that smooth . The intake you wanna leave a finish of like 200RA +-50 .. T

Took it to the track 1/8 mile ran a 9.271.. On a sliping clutch ohh and i also upgraded to a emanage ultimate... **** moves wayyyy better.. If i do a good burn out and hook. On a day thats not over 100° i know ill run a 9. 04 a 8.9

If i cared as much as i use too, i would take my heads off and go to work on them to get the ports to look like that, mine are UGLY. They work but no where near as nice. Im sure i could free up a 2-3hp with just some smoothing of the ports.

I took me a lot of time to do that, so much that I got a bursitis in the right elbow.

 

I forgot to say those are the exhaust port, the intake port need to be rougher so it can generate turbulence.

No that car does not have an SSIM, and its not an easy or worth while mode over an 00vi.

Guys lemme educate you on the 00vi swap. On average a full bolt on SSIM dyno at about 210whp, a few a little over a few a bit under. The SSIM is on track to dyno around the same numbers maybe 215whp or around that number. 5whp is not worth the amount of port work that will have to go into getting an SSIM to work. The highest dyno'd VQ30 had a 00vi on it and revved to 8K iirc and made 270whp.

Exploring the 00vi on a bolt on car? Really not worth the time and the effort this is coming from somebody who has one. Just put an 00vi on it and be done with the whole issue.

Bolt ons on a street tunue i made not bad i but like i said i had flat timing due to the fact of a bad knock sensor.. But ill re tune it and post dyno slip
