Re: Subs???

Infinity perfect!!! I got two of those in a dual bandpass box. Soooooo good. Eclipse subs are just as good from what i've heard. I have done extensive comparisons, and infinity beats out MTX by far, and just about anything you can buy at a local stereo store. Ebay is the way to go too. Got mine for 120 each, while retail is 499. Infinity perfects are perfect.

That's cool, because i just brought some infinity components speakers.
And I know they make good speakers, I didn't know if their Subs were good....

You need to find a sub whose parameters match the box you have.

Yes, it makes a difference.

COULD YOU EXPLAIN IN LITTLE MORE DETAIL ABOUT THE PARAMETERS, I'M AT NEWBIE AT THIS?

I MEAN I'M THINKING I HAVE TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS OF THE BOX?

you need to measure the box then subtract size of wood..say it is 12x12x15 on outside and uses 1/2mdf, then it would be 11x11x14..after you do that, take all 3 measurements and devide by 1728 that gives you sq. ft. then you need to find subs that work in that sq ft size also in bandpass, the ports make a big difference in tuning as well...neet to calculate for ports as well..generally, bandpass is very hard to tune to sound good but have great output in limited frequencies..have to have a very good front stage for a bandpass config to sound good...boxes are very easy and cheap to build..personally, I would sell it back or to someone else and build a box for the subs you want instead of trying to limit yourself to a sub for that box...with a little wood working experience, you can build a box in 2 hrs. for 25$ for material..if you have skill saw drill of some sort and a jigsaw allready that is....

if this box is a must though, get the measurements I explained and i'll find a sub for the application for you..but still think you would be happier with a sealed or ported box vs. bandpass

yo man. Alright, if you're gonna buy a box get a Q-logic bandpass. Best box, and fits infinities. IF you want details, go to either MTXaudio.com or the infinity website. They have education for you there.

Find out what speaker the box was made for hook it up and you will be happy. In a former set up of mine I had one 10 (aura) and it blew out most other systems that just used basic enclosure.

Enclosure + Power =
