Fiberglassing sub box?

I have built a false floor, sunk my amp down, and built a box on top of it. I was going to carpet it, but just got the idea fiberglass might look better. How hard would this be for some1 to do with no experience, or would carpet just be better and cheaper?

Laminating with glass is not difficult, but not easy either. There are a lot of things that can go wrong. Such as air bubbles. You could have a bubble and end up with a funny noise that won't go away. Or you could be someone who is really crafty, and do it right the first time. It's one of those things that experience helps, but natural art talent is a bigger benefit.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the cheaper polyester resins, like Bondo also won't adhere well to wood, and a lot of other materials. A specialist could make it look real good, but the places where the bond is not good could flex and introduce distortion. But this will also be power dependant. What I mean is that it might be plenty stong enough for a few hudred watts, or a couple subs at 1/2 to 1 inch of excursion. But I don't know of any way to tell the limit.

Actually i just glassed the front of my box last week and it looks great. It was alot of work though sand ing and filling and sanding and painting and sandiing and painting and sanding some more and buffing. however if you get a high build primer from an auto parts store and put about 7 to 10 coats on, you will be ok. wait a day or two after the first 2-3 coats because the mdf will soak that in but the next coats will go right on top. sand the primer till its smooth and your on you way to start painting
