Help with Cabin Speakers!

I am interested in improving my cabin speakers so they don't distort when they are loud
I have a Kenwood 45x 4 face and I am getting pioneer speakers for the front and back they are like 70 bucks for each pair. Will they still distort?

And I was wondering if I should hook up a 4 channel amplifier to these speakers to make it really loud. DO I have to get an amp that puts out more then the Face? if so what do u guys recommend to get I am looking to spend no more then around 250 for the amp.
Thanks!

Well...heh...

Generally, spending $70 on normal consumer-level popular-consumer-brand-name car audio speakers doesn't really equate to having the best speaker. Of course they'll still distort. Will they distort before you want them to? Most likely. I don't know what your ear thinks is "loud" or "good", and what type of music you listen to, etc....ie if you listen to a lot of low-frequency music, 6.5s aren't really gonna do it for you, whether it be two-way, three-way, or pure midbass drivers.

Most of the pio speakers I've heard around that price haven't pleased my ear. They seem to try to emphasize low-frequency sound at the cost of sound quality and fairly poor range/midbass quality. Highs were decent I guess. I could be wrong, I've just heard a few 2/3-way pioneer models. But for $70 a pair...

As far as powering them with an amp...they will come with specifications telling what the recommended power levels are to them, and should have both rms and maximum power ratings. RMS is continuous power. Find an amp that comes close to the rms rating of the speakers, preferably just over the rating (you can turn the gain down on the amp to compensate). For $250, you might find some OK 4-channel amps. I've heard good things about Monitors:

...bad thing is, they don't have internal crossovers. You can buy a Monitor MX1 2-way xover for $39 from the same place. Or ask around on the forum specifically for amps with a power output that match your speakers.

I just need something for mid and high frequency
so if I just get the speakers I should be fine Right?
