tweeter question for my 98 SE please help

I am desperatly trying to decide on what speakers to order for my 98 SE that I just bought, it has the stock tweeters in the front doors, does not have the Bose system, I was wondering what size the stockers are and if a 1" aftermarket would fit like the factory, please help, the component speakers that I am looking at are Focal 165H, MB Quarts, Infinity, and such. thanx

The way that the stock tweets are mounted makes it easy to mount an aftermarket tweet. Up to a fairly large tweet. Not anything with a sealed enclosure, but the focal will most likely fit pretty easy, with no or little modification.

the stock tweet is a .5 inch tweet. so if you want to flush mount the 1" you will have to cut the door. which is what i did.

Dang, I think it's larger on the 4th gen. Even if it isn't, there is enough room behind the vinyl for at least an average 1 inch car tweeter. Something like a dynaudio or focal TLR would need more room. But most tweets should be able to mount in a 4th gen.

I mounted my infinity tweeters in the stock location in my 1995 max fit perfect with a little modification and some double sided tape.

No need to cut, the tweets should fit perfectly back there.

Check with Nick97SE. I did his a few weeks ago, and that is how I did it.
