I know this isnt much, but i just want a like one 12" sub, and everything else that should make it run, (amp, box, capacitor if i need it) so is it possible to get a decent setup for 300? what do you guys suggest for components? thanks.

Infinity

Go to ebay, but an Infinity kappa 12.1se subwoofer (regular kappa series, not the kappa perfect) and an Infinity 102a amp. the speaker handles 1000 watts peak, and about 400rms. the amp is 100x2 or 300x1. pumps the sub nice though. the amp will run you $130 and the sub $120, plus shipping on each. had it in my car before i bought more and sounded really nice. i was really happy with it. if you live in or near CT i can get you a real good deal. let me know

You'll need to order over the internet to get good stuff for $300. There are too many models to list. Just pick some stuff out that fits your price range and then post the specific brands and model #s if you have questions. Also, don't forget about an enclosure and wiring.

heh..thanks guys, no i live in cali, just a lil ways from CT, but thanks for the offer, actually, my friend does work at circuit city, and i can get around 40% off, so what do you think i could get at circuit city thats decent for around 400-500 regular retail (w/ discount would make it around 300) anyways if you guys have any recommendations, i appreciate it, thanks for your help!

See how much you could get an Alpine MRP-T406 and an MTX T8124 for. If that's too much, you could step down to a Thunder 6000 series sub (T6124).
