Pics of my second CarPC

Hi all

If anyone care, or have been following my progress since my Dodge Intrepid's CarPC; I have updated my website with pics of my latest CarPC incarnation.

I'm still waiting on some of the car audio equipment that I purchased from Pearl96Max, whom btw does business well.

Read the specs of my setup, if you have questions, feel free to post here or to email me. I love talking about this topic, and keep in mind that I will be upgrading to DC-DC soon and will also be hopefully getting 7" vga tft as well.

Anyway, enjoy!

bro, if you can find a 7-9" 800x600 capable lcd, lemme know. all the ones im finding in that size are no more than 640x480, and most of them suck.

Nismo, my current 7" widescreen lcd can do 1024x768, but i don't know why you'd want to. I run it at 800x600 right now. Check out http://intrepid.megalithic.org

Anyway, my current 7" widescreen lcd is ntsc though. I'd like to get a vga tft lcd. That will have to wait though. As I have spent a lot on other stuff for this system.

Cheers!

well, i dont really want an ntsc lcd...im planning on running an in-car computer kinda like yours, but i have yet to find an lcd in the 7-9" size, but id like to do 1024x768. id alost rather have a 4:3 than a widescreen, just cuz that will mesh with the standard display drivers better...and i wont need to hack one up.

Hey replicant, does the Peel and Seal smell when it gets hot?

I remember reading some people thought it smelled like tar on hot days. Oh and how much was it if you know off hand.

97GLE,

The PnS doesn't really smell, but it hasn't been hot as of late, and I JUST installed most of it the passed few days ago. I will defintely let you know when it does happen. I'm hoping ot doesn't end up smelling funky
Right now I just have it under the passenger seat, and in the trunk

I may then consider another alternative to PnS and Dynamat for the doors.

Regards

PnS

Kickyoazzz,

The PnS was 13 bucks for a roll of 6" x 25'
I bought two rolls and that got the trunk + passenger side flooring

I'm going to buy 2-4 more rolls for the doors and to do on the trunk roof/deck and for the driver side floor. All in all, I"ll be spending less than Dynamat for the entire car!

I'll be putting up pics of the LCD installed tonight.

Cheers

Right now I've only got the PnS under the passenger seat, and on the trunk floor. I"ll be getting more to put in the doors hopefully tomorrow. Also, I have noticed a very faint tar smell, not really noticable, in fact, i wouldn't have noticed, unless the question had come up. I'm still going to use it in the doors though

I really want to get rid of the road noise. If you guys haven't looked, I have pics of the LCD install up. I needa make a comments page so anyone with ideas/comments can add your thoughts/critisms.

Anyway, ask anymore questions, I'll be happy to answer what I can.
