Navigation Systems..

Can I use a navigation disc in a dvd player? I ask because I already have a monitor and dvd player that plays cd r, cd rw, etc. But I don't want to spend 1000$ on a whole system. But, I just realized that you have to have something with a GPS thing in it? Well, whats the cheapest way to go? thanks.

No, you can't just throw in a navigation disk and have it work. A navigation unit has connections that include an antenna to a GPS satellite, a speed sensor wire, a reverse sensing wire, and an e brake wire. By just throwing in the disc, you would get nothing else than a glorified map, if that...

Yeah, you have to go the whole nine yards, sorry to say, but in the end it is well worth it. I have made trips to Montreal and Florida (I am in CT) in the last month, and it has been an immense help in finding my way around, especially to points of interest. Give me a day or two and I will get some pics going.
