Amp/Speaker Wiring

This is definately something that has been asked before and I'm sorry if it's obvious, etc. I've tried searching but the questions are so general and specific that after reading through a few dozen posts I still don't quite have an answer. I have 4 infinity reference 6.5's (652i) on the way and I also have an amp that I have had for a while that I'd like to use. The amp is a Pioneer GM-X322 2 channel and my HU is a Clarion that is rated at 40W per channel. I'm not sure whether it is RMS or not, most likely not. Either way, the amp is 35W RMS per channel into the 4 ohm Infinity speakers, will this sound any better than just using the head unit to power the speakers?

If so, how can I amp the front speakers? Just use the wiring meant to be connected to the HU and splice into it? I don't think it'll make a difference to change out the stock wiring because there won't be that much power going to the speakers anyway. Also, any recommendations on where to put the amp? It shouldn't get that hot, so underneath the passenger's seat should be okay, right?

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.
