cd won't eject dammit!
 

So I have the bose cd/radio/tape deck in my '96 se, and I can't get the cd to eject. When I turn it from radio to cd it just says "cd err." Any ideas as to getting this cd out?

Have u tried turning the power to the Bose stereo off and then back on? I think this happened to me before, and when i turned it off and then back on, the cd ejected normally.

take the deck apart...its kinda fun to see all the innards. i actually fixed a friends alpine that way. it wouldnt take cd's in, so i took it apart, and put it back together...still didnt work. did it again, and it worked perfectly. probably is still workin in the bastards car that stole it.:mad:

I have a solution that works for me, but I can't really recommend it to you because it probably isn't all that great of an idea. If you smack the hell out of the front of the cd player with the butt of your hand, it will usually spit it right out. If that doesnt work, just take your dash off and slap the cd player on the ***... that always works.

Remember, I didnt tell you to do that... just said it worked for me :D

For sure fix
 

1. disconnect the conections to the stereo (power and audio wires) and when you connect it it resets the headunit. if you do not know how disconnect the battery with the headunit on.

2. take it apart

Try both of these things for sure to work. if the first does not work then that means the cd section is faulty and needs to be replaced, or repaired.

The fix for this is to disconnect both heavy terminals on the power lead of the battery. This will reset the HU and eject the CD.

What's the difference between this method & only removing the negative terminal which is much easier? I'd love to know!

The difference is this:

People who understand basic electronics and circuits remove only ONE terminal, and those that don't remove both! :D

On some CD decks, there is a procedure for "forced eject" if the CD gets stuck and the normal eject doesn't work. On my old JVC deck, it happened once, and the fix was to hold the eject button for over two seconds, and it will literally shoot out the disc. Probably not the same procedure for the BOSE deck, but something similar probably exists.

I believe the BOSE method is to remove the whole CD player, send it to BOSE, pay like $200 and then reinstall. :rolleyes:

Repeat as needed...
