So difficult....AGGGH

Choos in speakers is a pain in the friggin @$$! i was lookin at the focal utopias, the cdt eurosports, and the mb quart q series speakers, and i dont know if im satisfied. reviews for these high end components say that they have harsh tweets and alright bass response. if im spendin hard earned cash, i dont wanna have it be put to mediocre products. anyone have any suggestions for speakers with excellent bass response? and i also want tweeters with a crisp sound, but not harsh. were these just poor reviews? any help is really appreciated.

if your NOT looking for components, the Kenwood Excelon KFC-Xr601 are ORGASMIC!!!!! The bass is AMAZING, they are priced for 200$ thro crutchfield...

If you want Components, i would suggest Alpine Type R's...they are real nice, i think...

If you are really looking at that high a price range you might consider Dynaudio. I don't think the tweets are as harsh.

I switched from Quart to Focal for this exact reason. The Quarts were so bright you needed sunglasses to listen to them. Usually, the deciding factor for me is the size of the speaker for the given application. You can get any speaker to work, but some are easier to place than others.

The reason most high end speakers seem to have a little less midbass is a combination of many things. First is that the designers know that an audiophile wants the most accurate sound, not an overly bass heavy driver. Second is that the vocals and instruments in the midrange sound so much better than what you are used to that it may seem like you need more bass to round out the low end. Third is that most people who pay the retail price of these premium speakers are not worried about spending a few bills on midbass or subwoofer drivers. The speaker designers probably hvae a few other goals for their drivers as well.
