Pro- More off-engine listening time

Con- More strain on alternator, especially if you don't use a battery isolator..

basically a solenoid that disconnects the extra battery, so that your alternator isn't trying to recharge 2 batteries at once..

You can.. if you have room for another, and most likely another idler.. or you can replace another accessory (A/C, PS)

huh?
bro ....the alternator is supposed to charge both batteries simultaneously...what a battery isolator does is this: it keeps both batteries seperated from each other. so that when the car is off, a battery that has been drained more than the other wont pull current from the battery that has more charge. isolator is like a one way valve. it connects both batteries to the alternator so as to charge both at the same time, and as a valve (using diodes) to keep the batteries seperate from each other.

i was on point with that one
i didnt say it clearly though, i'll give u that....the isolator seperates the 2 batteries from each other meaning one can be drained without affecting the other, and both are charged simultaneously
