Stealth deck/moved face

Alright guys, thanks for all the help last go around Matt.

As you might know, I have my deck stealthed behind the factory stereo face. I didn't shave the metal brackets back so it's nice, but not flat pro style yet. I'm going to build the trim and shave the brackets back soon and cover the space with leather the same color as my seats (extra panels left over from install kit). Any suggestions before I make the leap, tools to use, etc.? I should be able to get replacement brackets if I blow it right?

I also thought of relocating the face of the deck right below my rear view mirror or above it. My audio guy said we could do it. I'm not all about the blings as everything is stealth in my car so maybe I should skip that option.

Only pictures of anything like this is what Max n' out has on his homepage from the audio finals.

I would really like to know how you get the face to stay in place and take it off and on. Did you have to basically dismattle the original bose?

Mine isn't bose, but you take the face off the factory cd player, remove the circuit board from the back of it, then you can just pull it off and on, it has no problems staying on at all since if pit right where it did before and has a lip on top that holds it in in some odd case that you were throwing the car around. Looks completely stock. I also dremeled off some material for more space behind the face.I took out the eject button so I can control the deck behind the face without taking it off. That'll change when I get the 1.5din alpine next month, then I'll have to take the face off every time I start the car, but oh well. I've posted pictures before, I'll have to find them or take new ones. I'm going to glass the whole thing in when I get the alpine, right now it's black vinyl

I'm assuming when you say 1.5din you're talking about the 7998. That's a nice HU. I remember when someone was selling one on here that was 2 weeks old for about $400. I wanted to jump all over it... That's an excellent unit. I still want to see pics of your setup though...

7897.... The 7998 is even more sweet, too many bones though. I wish I had got that one too, but I'm gonna drop 400 on the 7897 next month. Then I'll either glass it in or redo the vinyl again. Not sure yet.

I love the stealth setup.... except I know whoever stole my shiet the last time, I dont think anything I do is going to stop them from doing it again. I just got a nice 2way LCD alarm. This time if it happen, I running out with my two 37" Katana swords.

But I still love the stealth Idea. Man would I like to do that.
