Speakers

I want to put in a set of 3x9 speakers in my 96 maxima, I was wondering on the best way to do this, as some cutting will be involed and as you all know, not a lot of room to work back there, whats the best way for me to go about this?

I'd remove back seat and go in that way. Cut what you need so the speakers fit in there and rest on toop of rear deck. Alternatively you could cut from within the trunk but risk injuring the mnaterial covering the rear deck. Isnt too hard to remove rear deck covering. Take off the bottom part of the rear seat, then the top will slide up and off - pop up the rear deck and whoila. access to rear speakers.

why the hell would you want to do that?

the most natural sounding speakers are completly circular

maxima is already fitted for circles

I am not sure what you mean by "natural sounding" but in my experience oval speakers typically have a naturally flatter frequency response. There are many other variable to consider though.

HAHA I proved you all wrong once again!

http://ccs.exl.info/speakers.html

"Do round speakers sound better than oval-shaped speakers (i.e. 6x9's)? The answer is yes for most practical purposes. A round cone is more rigid than an oval-shaped one, so at higher levels, an oval-shaped speaker will distort more. The reason why there are oval-shaped speakers is because of rear deck space considerations by manufacturers. An advantage of a 6x9 speaker over a 6-inch speaker is that it has a bigger area, so it will move higher air volume, producing more bass."

what the hell does a horn have to do with the price of apples?

or oranges for that matter

horns are a natural instrument its impossible for them to be flawed as they are the standard for realistic sound

unless you mean another horn

anybody else?

A HORN IS A TYPE OF SPEAKER USALLY USED UNDER THE DASH OR SOMTIMES MOUNTED IN THE DASH...IF YOU KNEW ANYTHING YOU WOULD KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU KNOW **** AND TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN.

have you ever heard of a tractrix horn like on klipsch speakers, they actually increase the loudness without distorting the sound too much

but they have nothing to do with the shape of the speaker, so you are still an idiot

by the way, your caps lock key is broken

no it's not broken.

A horn is just like any other speaker, wheather it would be a tweeter, midrange, sub, or ribbon tweet. So yes the shape does play a role in your stuiped idea of speaker shape being that large of an idea.

Yes I do know about Klipsch.

By the way what makes you an "audio specialist"...And if you say you worked at best buy or some sad **** like that, just walk away with your head down now.

Name droping don't work with me...Try somthing else.

lol.. yes, round cones are more rigid.. ovals have a tendency to elongate & contract when pushed from the center like a speaker does..

will you hear it? meh. <shrug>

and BTW, horns have circular drivers too..
