interesting question...someone a little more electronically inclined than I might be able to provide a sure-fire answer, but I think most PCs of the same guts would require more than a 150W power supply.

Havent tried to hook it up to see if it'll work? I don't think horrible things would happen if you underpowered something like that, but I've been wrong before I guess.

Yeah it works fine. I don't want to get the Xbox in there just yet.... i'd rather enjoy it inside w/ a much bigger screen and better-than-maxima-bose sound... so for now i just kept the N64 in there until my friends leave for college again. I blew the LCD's power inverter (the part that sticks into ciggie-lighter) so i went to radio shack to get a generic inverter that steps 12V to 7.5V... and i seem to have a problem.

The inverter gives me an "overload" warning and just sits there and does nothing w/ a blinking red light. When I ghetto-wire the inverter to my computer, it works fine... I only get this problem when the car is running... so i'm guessing the inverter can't handle 12V+ ?? Because when the car is running, i know the battery outputs like 13-14V... I have no clue what the problem could be. It just shuts down when i try to turn it on, but weirdly, it worked fine ONCE when i did. I have no idea what's up w/ it. I'm guessing maybe the Amps don't match or something?? Any idea?

That x-box wont like your power inverter..you need to have an inverter actually hardwired to your battery that is atleast 300watts. Not sure why but we do have problems using x-boxes with weak inverters.

I think it's because there is more stuff in the Xbox that requires more power than the other systems, such as the hard disk drive, enhanced sound processor, GPU, etc. Just a guess, though.

look at the amps the inverter can handle, the xbox only takes 2.1 amps ; so just get a inverter that can handle more that than and you should be fine, to find out how many amps the inverter can handle divide the total wattage by 120 and you'll get the number of amps

i.e. if you have a 300 watt inverter , divide by 120 and you'll get 2.5 amps
