Will an Alpine CDA-7995 work with the '96 bose??
i am in the market for a new head unit. the factory bose just isn't doing it anymore.
i was looking at getting the Alpine CDA-7995, however the unit has no internal amps, just preamps. since the bose speakers are indivudially amped, can i use this head unit with the factory speakers for now??
i do plan on changing them, but don't have the cash now.
thanks in advance!

I just bought the Alpine 7892 model and had it installed in place of my Bose head unit, and it works fine with the Bose speakers. I had Circuit City install it because install was free, and it worked fine. However you do need to purchase an adapter for it which is like $50 bucks, but thats no big deal.

Yeah, but the 7995 does not have ANY speaker-lvel outputs. I would guess that it is not possible w/o custom work to clip and strip a set of RCAs and connect them to the stock harness in such a manner that the RCA-level signal is transmitted to the inputs of the Bose amps. I know it COULD be done, but it woudl be a huge pain. First, it would be a big waste of money to chop up new RCAs, then you would have to wire it up (correctly), and there is still the question of the use of the non-balanced RCA signal into the balanced-line expectations of the factory Bose.
