LCD and DVD player

Time for my next big purchase. Getting rid of that horrible in-dash cd changer. I'm going DVD, and I don't know which one. Either the Alpine display with nav capabilities and a seperate DVD player, or the equivalent Pioneer. I will be adding a changer with it no matter what, as well as a NAV system a little ways down the road. Now many Nav systems are touch screen activated, I'm wondering if Alpine's or Pioneer's is also????
Give me a response (pro/con). I'm cool with constructive criticism, and go to my homepage to vote, my decision will be based on a combination of replies and votes.

And I'm not considering any other brand.

Pioneer Nav units............

If you are going to go with Pioneer Navigation system, let me know how much they cost now. A last check (about two weeks ago), they were $1,800, correction, $3,300 Dollars M.S.R.P for the NAV-SYS900DVD system, $2,300M.S.R.P. for the AVIC-90DVD system, and if you want to run a seperate navigation monitor, the AVD-W6010 cost $850.00 M.S.R.P.

That is why I am waiting for the price to drop, and hope I can get them cheaper in Germany.

DAWG, MY BAD ............

I forgot to check the other model section of Pioneer.com . Here is the scoop:

AVIC-505 Nav system....$1,300 m.s.r.p.

if you want a better model than that......

AVIC-DVD Nav system....$2,400 m.s.r.p.

if you want to track you movement on your navigation system....

ND-PG1 pluse generator....$250.00 m.s.r.p

I should have been more observant, sorry, bro.
Those prices may be even lower at a name brand store (like Circuit City).

The Clarion DVD/CD/MP3 Touch Screen unit is the VRX925DVD, we bought it from http://www.sbhcorp.com/scripts/homeViewItem-126.html for a great price.. By the way I also have no complaints about the unit..

Re: DAWG, MY BAD ............

I appreciate it. I have decided on the Pioneer setup, but im adding nav later. I wasnt getting anything cause i was priced out since there was no financing out here in illinois. so i called myer emco in md where im from and i got a great deal on the 6400cd flip out display (only $15 more than the regular plain old display) andthe p7 dvd player. and because im out of state im tax exempt on top of 12month 0% interest. i was sold.
