LCD screen Problems (mp3 setup)

OK, this is a question for the electronics people. I bought an LCD screen off of ebay and when it arrived I had it bench tested at a loal stereo shop. They said it does not work so I tried it my self and it did not work either. The screen gets the power but nothing comes up on the screen. It is a pyle unit that has a single s-video output that inturn gets hooked up to an adapter of some sort (was supplied) This adapter has an input for the svideo and a 12V and ground output + RCA video out. The unit is brand new and since I don;t have the reciept I cant send it to pyle corporation for repairs under warranty.

Thanks in advance
Any help would be greatly appreciated

try hooking it directly to a dvd player using an s-video cord without the supplied adapter. Turn brightness up all the way, might also be that too. If all those dont work, then ..well....you might have to contact the people you bought it from directly and try to get a replacement or your money back.

If I connect it to the S-video out, would that also power the LCD screen? Because there is no separate power supply out of the lCD screen. The power is out of the adapter to wi=hci there is an S-video input and from the adapter there is a power and RCA out connection. I tried the brightness and contrast and color so that they were all at the max. I have emailed the individual I bought it from and he hasn't replied yet. PLEASE HELP, any comments suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i have hooked up a couple of overhead and head rest monitors at work and they all obviosly require power and groung to work but circuit city only sells audiovox brand monitors so i have no expiance with pyle. if you conect +12v, ground and a video source and it doesnt show a picture then i would guess it is defective

Connecting it with the svideo will not power it. I was assuming it had two separate jacks: one for s-video and one for power..apparently, it doesnt, which is kinda weird.

Anyways, here's what you can try. Connect the Lcd so it's getting power. Do you have a power inverter (plugs into cigarette lighter and supplies 120volts)? If you do, get your dvd player or ps2 or what have you and take it into the car with you. Plug the dvd player into the power inverter to power it up. connect the dvd player to the lcd screen using the rca connector(or video input, the yellow wire). Run it to the yellow on the dvd player and try it to see if it's getting any signal input at all. That's all I can tell you from what you've said. If it still doesnt get any signal, go to a local bestbuy or circuit city and let them have a look at it (just have a look, not fully install it) they should be able to tell you wassup with it for free. Goodluck.
