I have 2 neons mounted underneath my dash board reflecting onto the floor, and the passenger side one is right below the glove box and the wiring runs behind the dash, through the floor air vents and up the drivers side to the switch. This is the second time, but my passenger side neon keeps dying on me. Does the wiring get too hot from the heater and cause it to not work anymore? Any help would be appreciated cause this tends to start getting expensive replacing these damn lights.

What brand are you using? I've got 2 under the dash and 2 under the seats and have not had a problem with the heat. I'm using Streetglow brand.

Heat on the wires should not be a problem, unless the jacket melts. Tell me more about what's happening and maybe I can help.

Also, Streetglow is waranteed for 1 year (except broken glass on tube).

 

I have a few that went bad on me. I just simply exchange them at JC whitney. I have streetglow and JC Whitney are really good about replacing them even after warranty period expired.

 

Ok, I have 3" blue neons under each side of my dash. I got them at pepboys (yes I know they are probably not the highest quality, but I wanted something right away) I used to have a 10" one under the passenger side, and then I started to notice that the whole tube didnt lite up anymore, at first it was only an inch or so at the end, then half went out and eventually the whole thing. Now these are 3" ones, so there isnt much to it, but about a 1/2 inch at one end wont lite up anymore, and it's probably a matter of time before that one goes too. Maybe its because of the cold here in the winter?? It has been about 15degrees outside lately. It's just becoming very annoying to have these lights stop working, and it has only been the passenger side... the jacks arent melted either. Hope this can help you help me a little more
