I just looked at http://www.crutchfield.com and it says it does not fit. I guess you can call crutchfield like your interested in buying the speakers from them and ask them why it wont fit.

HTH..

I have a 98 Max GLE and 6 1/2" speakers fit in the rear deck. Crutchfield has no CLUE! As far as the front goes, there are plastic speaker holders that hold the Bose speakers up. You can use those but you need a nice flat speaker with little to no top mount depth. You can lose those holders and go with an MDF custom job as well. I am beginning to do this to my car. If you would like the measurements for the cutots, I will mbe happy to provide.

The rear speakers for all of the 95-99 maximas are 6 and 1/2. I just bought some right after christmas, and I got 6 and 3/4 on accident, and had to take them back to get 6 1/2.

yes you can put these in no problem. all you have to do is use some 1/4" (mdf of plywood) and make templates. In the doors, remove the speaker pod, trace the outside of the mounting area of the pod and cut it out, then cut out the appropriate hole from the center. then screw that sucker to the door and stick the speaker in. On the rear you will have to do something similar. but this time I suggest you bottom load the speaker. you can only install aftermarket speakers properly if you have changed the factory head unit. DO NOT wire these speakers to the factory Bose amps! After you have all four templates cut and installed, it is time to instal the speakers. Each amp has a plug with four wires in it. Two wires are 14-12 gauge (larger) and the other two are 16-18 gauge smaller. The two larger wires are the power and ground for the amps the other two are the signal inputs for the amp which become your speaker wires when you install your aftermarket head unit. IF you are installing the head unit at the same time you are installing the speakers, note what color you positive (+) speaker wire is. If not don't worry. Just note the position where the wire is in the 4 prong amp plugs and use the wire in the same position for the positive on all four speakers.
It is not as important to have all fours speakers in phase as it is to have all four speakers in the same mechanical phase. Hope this helps a little.
