I also agree...you sit up front...get the midbass up front...ur subs are right behind ur rear seat...so u most likely wont even notice if u had comp. out back!

I was wondering, If you don't put components in the front, just coaxials in the front. How do you connect the tweeter and the coaxials.

I guess y'all just weren't going for the all around sound for 4 or 5 passengers that I was, and others on this board were. Plus $100 more than the Eclipse PointSource COAXS that blew, got me rear components, and a lot better sound.

Most of the people that posted rear coax are most likely because of the fact that rear speakers are meant to produce rear "fill". Those speakers should only be filling the dead airspace left back there.

There is nothing wrong with components in the back, it is pretty much up to the individuals personal preference.

Yup....I got my rears so they still sound good for the people back there at a MUCH cheaper price.

I guess I would be more on-board w/ the idea of rear components if the rear speakers were in the doors, and if the tweeters could be mounted in the doors. I rode ni a 95 Jetta w/ a crappy system, but even the OEM rears were in the doors, not the deck. There were tweets near the handles. If you could rig it up that way in the rear, then rear components, even if the mids were still in the rear deck, would make more sense.

I agree. I have components up front and coax in the rear. It's personal preference. I have people in my back seat maybe 2 times per month max. I didn't see spending extra $$ for that. With components up front, you (as the driver) won't hear much difference.

If you do go with components in the rear, remember that tweeters are directional. Don't mount them in the deck with the driver. Mount them somewhere where like the rear pillars so they point at where you want them to be heard (trying to bounce the sound from the tweeters of the rear glass can be tricky).
