2001 Bose in a 4th gen?

hey guys,

does anyone know if a 2001 Bose head unit would fit/work in a 4th gen equiped with a Bose system?

My orignal bose headunit is all scuffed up, and i was thinking about replacing it with a 5th gen's Bose head unit.

thanks

im 99% sure it would work electronically, but it will NOT FIT into a 4th gen.

The deck will work for sure. It sends out a line level signal. Only difference in the 4th and 5th gens are that the 4th gens have each speaker powered individually with an amp on the speaker. 5th gens have speakers powered by a central amp under the rear dash.

So electronically it should work, but i take it that the head units are different sizes then. the 4th gens are double din right? so what size are the 5th gens?
