What to look for when buying LCDs?

Hey, I recently saw some pics of a 7" lcd mounted into the double din of a 4th gen, and the head unit was placed beneath it in the little cubbie.
I really want to do this to, I think it looks super clean.

My question is what do I need to know to avoid crappy lcds and crappy quality. Is "active matrix" a must? any info or links to helpful sites would be appreciated

thanks in advance

Resolution. The higher the resolution the better the picture will be. Also, look before you buy. Just like buying regular tv's stats may be similar on them but some just have better pictures. It's all about what you like.

More than likely The setup you saw was with a microvision 7 " screen that i probably sold to an org member. Just ask them how they like the clarity of the screen. I think you will get great responses. Then holla at me for one

I just got a rather good one, its a 7" farenheit Its got the same res as the top alpine monitors that cause 2k and i only paid 225 on e-bay. Active matrix is an absolute must it makes viewable angle way higher meaning you can see it from further to either side. My res is 1440 by 236 or something like that. Its the best i've seen and it looks GREAT. I've got mine mounted exactly how the one you saw was.
