FM modulator install question

FM modulator install question

i grabbed this quote re: nissan's diversity antenna, from the sirius radio thread in the group buy forum and would like some clarification on where this jack studman is refering to. i tried feeling for it and came up with nothing. has anyone else used this method? thanks.

Feel the cable coming off of it and you'll find a connector 3-6" down the cable. Unplug the connector and insert the FM modulator there. It's a standard antenna connector, and doesn't require $20 in adapters ($10 each) nor removal of the HU.

Some people have said that the jack isn't there. On my 98, it was there. Open the trunk. Remove the factory jack. Find the base of the antenna with your hand. Follow the cable coming out of it. About 3-12" down (varies between models) there should be a connector that is a standard male antenna to female antenna. It was on my 93 GXE as well. If you can't find it, then Nissan must've messed up or something during those years, because it was there on my 93 GXE and there on my 98 GLE as well. That's how I tapped in my 12 disc CD changer that I had at the time.
