Why didn't this work?

I tapped into the positive and negative wires coming from the factory amp to the Bose sub and split it off to my 2 10" Rockfords. All that happened was my Bose sub didn't work. Then when I took the taps off the wires the Bose sub started working again. I was trying to get some of the amp power goin to the Bose sub to power my 10s. Why didn't this work?

You might want to get another amp. If I am correct, the Bose amp does not have enough power to amplify 2 subs.

Thanx. I was told a good amp to go w/ my 2 10" Rockford Z's would be the Rockford Power 350s. I found it on sounddomain.com for $180. Does anyone know if there is anywhere where I can get it cheaper?

When you say that you split off to the 2 rockfords did you split off the signal to an amp that then went to the 2 RF subs, or did you use the Bose amp to directly push the RFs?

Well to go into detail I used 2 actual wire taps and tapped into the black(neg) and white(pos) wires coming from the Bose amp to the Bose sub and twisted 2 wires together for the pos and twisted 2 together for the neg and then seperated the positive wires and put them into the positive part for the 2 RFs and did the same w/ the negative.

Okay, I see.

Well, like it was said above, my guess would be that the Bose amp is not designed to run 2 subs, nor to run at the impedence load that yuo created. I would definately add the suggested amp.

Yeah I'm tryin to get the money. I wanna keep it RF and not cross brands. So as I said before I'm gettin the RF Power 350s for $180. The 10s I have aren't the best but I got them b/c I couldn't pass up the deal. A friend wanted 12s so he sold them to me for $30 all together and I made my box.
