Best sub under $100!

I had decided to buy the Polk GNX but i found out the website selling it for $74 is not authorized dealer=if it breaks, im screwed. I have some choices right now:

Ultimate Platinum series 10''
Infinity Reference 10''
Pioneer VCCS 10''
Polk Gnx 10''

Sound Quality is probably most important to me but i want a sub that can hit hard enough. I saw that the pioneer and polks can go as low as 18hz, would these have better bass?

thanks

Re: Best sub under $100!

check out the adire audio shiva for slightly more...it delivers a lot of punch for the dollar. jl W0s are also very efficient with little power for under 100.

If you are just looking for one sub, go with a JL-W0. You can get them for about $100. If you'd like two, keep an eye out for Ciruit City and Best Buy sales papers. They each run 2-for-1 deals. CC usually had MTX4000s and BB runs Rockford Fosgates. If you can get two for $100, they both are decent. I prefer the MTXs for the price. I have two JL-W0s in my car now and I love them. Had them 5 years now and they still pound! I think I paid $250 for the two plus a sealed box($100 each and $50 for the box).

The CDT Audio Minibox 10 is a much much better sq sub than any of those mentioned so far (IMO one of the better sounding subs out there). It is on sale for an absolute steal on The Zeb. If they have any left the are $80 for a 10 inch. They only need a small box and a small amp to sound very clean.

I would like to see that woofer actually take 600wrms....audiobhan is known for overrating their subs. I also agree that the CDT would be a very good SQ sub.

I got a brand new Infinity Kappa 10 (one step up from the reference model) and loved it. It got about 200 watts at one point, but now runs with much less. I paid $78 shipped for it.

You'd be surprised. I've had my Alum 10s on 700rms a piece several times, they are currently at 500 a piece and have lasted many years.

First off audiobahn is purely for looks (and maybe volume) but certainly not for sound quality. Secondly, components (or any speakers for that matter) do not put out power. The "power" is created by the amplifier. What you speak of is a power rating (ie how much power the speaker can handle from an amp)

Yeah, I used to have those too....great sound quality, if that's what you're looking for. That was until I sold them in place of a Vega Vega 12" in a sealed/ported box that hits WAY harder. 700 a piece RMS huh? That's funny, I pushed mine to the limit with one 800wmax amp.
