highs and tweets

Any recommendations on highs??? I want to have a good clear sound inside. If I get speakers in my doors and change my tweets do I need another amp just to supply the power to these things or not??? The subs fade out the stock highs, it was alright when I first did it but now its kinda annoying.

highs are your tweets, mids are the most important speaker to the sound system, imo. Suggestion range from 10 bucks to 1000000000, so give a max price and what it is your after and what you have.

My bad bro, I have 2 jl 12's. What I want is something to bring up the sound inside the car to match up with the subs hitting in the back. I want something that sounds good and I dont want no cheap **** so give me a price off of that, I am willing to put in no more then 800 but I was kinda hoping for less then that.

If your subs are killing your tweeters, then your systems isn't balanced. Your subs are probably producing too much bass in certain frequencies. You could get more powerful tweeters and just up the treble on your EQ or headunit, but that's not solving the problem, just bandaiding it. Try adjusting the output of your sub down, or maybe even re-position the sub to produce a smoother bass response.

Based on what you said I'm thinking your factory or mostly.

WHile turnign down the subs is one thing sure, you can help the front out...First thing If you don't have it a good head unit 350 and up, componets (6.5 mid and tweet combo) figure 300 and up. Then an amp for the mids and highs up front, figure 300 and up on that too at least. All in all Ive always felt that to build a complete system all around it's gonna run no less than 2g's.

Add to that, that a good system normally starts with good mid and high mounting locations. Location, location, location. Then HU, power, etc. After the front compnents are properly set up, then worry about the low end. Where you mount the mid and tweets will be more important than which mid/tweet you get. But the mid tweet choice is extremely important. Every set sounds different and we all have different musical tastes and ears. Those differences add up exponentially so don't take anyone's advice on what speakers to get.

What I actually did with my 3rd gen that I haven't done with my 5th gen is run the tweeters by themselves off two channels on the head unit. Then have an amp to power your 4 door speakers. This allows everything to get plenty of power with two more channels left over for maybe another set of tweeters in the back.
