PLEASE HELP ME jbl bp1200.1 and hx2 question

I have two 12 inch rockford hx2's and I just ordered an jbl bp 1200.1 amp The amp is advertised as a mono amp but there are 4 terminals for speakers on the amp. If I had the voice coils on each hx2 wired in parallel two make two dirvers wired at 2 ohms each sub a total load of 1 ohm how would I hook them up to the amp? the amp is 1 ohm stable
I thought a mono amp would just have 2 speaker terminals not 4

Wait until you get the amp and check the manual. I imagine that the 2 sets of outputs are still mono, they just make it easier to use heavy gauge wire w/o jamming it in a small terminal. YOu could wire each sub in series (8 ohms per sub) and then wire the pair in parallel (for a total imp of 4 ohms). Basically, you needed to buy 2 SVC subs...

Just wired the subs up in parallel and then one sub goes to one + and -, and the other sub goes to the other + and -. That will give you, your 1 ohm load.

I checked the Owners manual on the JBL site and it doesn't give any detailed instructions. I have a Kenwood 810d mono amp with 4 terminals. The manual for it gives detailed instructions and diagrams. Here is a link to it's manual: KAC-X810d It should give you a good idea!

Is that amp designed to run a nominal 1 ohm load?

Amp says it's 1200W @ 2 ohm, but @ 1 ohm, it doesn't gain anymore power.

But is it even designed to run that low? Hello, fire department, if it is not!

Yes, you can run it at 1 ohm. It is stable down to 1 ohm

The amp puts out the same power at 2 and 1 ohm. The 2 sets of terminals are there to allow for a less confused, easier hookup.
