Wiring Adapter

I am replacing the Bose speakers in my '02 Max with some Diamond components, and using Kicker amps to power the components and new sub. My question is this: If I keep my Bose HU for now, what adapter(s) do I need to use to integrate the Bose HU and my aftermarket amps and speakers, and where can I find a diagram of how to wire it up? I hve been told that the Scosche FAI-3 adaptor s what I need. Is this correct? I was hopoing that there woud be an adaptor that would plug directly into the back of the Bose HU with RCA outputs. Replcing the HU is not an option right now, so I need to find out what else I need to get. Thanks!!!

PAC makes a kit called the AOEM-NIS2. You can find it at their website. The whole kit should cost less than $80, but includes the ability to keep the Bose amp (should you want to), the Bose-to-line-level convertor, and a cable with (4) RCA outputs.

I used to use the kit until I replaced my HU with an aftermarket one. I'll tell you that the amp/speakers are good, it's the HU that is crappy. I used PAC's ROEM-NIS2 kit to do the HU swap, and I kept the stock amp and speakers. The change was noticably different. The highs were high and the lows were low.

I'm not trying to talk you out of replacing the speakers and amp, I'm just warning you that the HU isn't all that great to begin with. Once you get the speakers replaced, you may end up wanting to replace the HU too. Just my opinion. And if you wanna know, I am planning on replacing the Bose amp/speakers too, just not for a little while (until I get enough money to do my custom trunk box to house my amps).

Any questions/comments are welcomed.

Studman,
I did a search of the PAC site, but couldn't find the part you referred to. Could you post a link to the kit? Thanks!!

You can either click the link above, or visit the home page and choose the following:

Products -> OEM Interfaces -> Bose/JBL/Infinity Interface

Once that page loads, in the section titled "OEM-1", click on the link that says "Click HERE to find a kit for your vehicle".

Either way will get you to the same place. Then you just pick your car and the configuration, and you're all set.

I have been researching it as well. I think that you could purchase the kit form here.
Tune-Town.com

Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Cannot get my Pioneer to Power up with the PAC-OEM1 kit

HELP!

I just installed the PAC kit on my 2k2 Maxima with the BOSE. I am replacing only the HU and keeping exisiting speakers/amp. The wiring was done as mentioned in the Diagram. I did initially connect the Steering wheel control/ Ipod connector on the same RED and BLACK cables for power/grounding, I don't know if that had anything to do with no power at all to the System.

I have removed these additional devices. But there is no power at all to the Aftermarket HU. Any ideas?

thanks,
Selwyn

BOSE SYSTEM for 2001 Maxima

I have a 2001 Maxima with the factory Bose System. I am having several problems with the electronics of the system. Number one concern is that the subwoofers in the back constantly cut on and off, to a greatly annoying degree. I have no idea how to even begin to fix this, and I am afraid to take it to anyone initially because I fear I may be charged an arm and a leg for it. Number two is that the volume sometimes does not go up when I turn the **** on the main unit. Usually, when you fiddle with it, it always eventually works. However, the volume adjustment on the steering wheel awlays works. If anyone knows the best way to go about this, please let me know!

Im sorry if this has been asked or clarified somewhere else, but I have spent a good hour and a half searching for the necessary knowledge and I’m just coming up short. I got finals and a SPRING BREAK ROAD TRIP coming up so I wanna get this baby (one 12 alpine type s and alpine amp, everything else stock) in before I leave. I’m a complete noob at this stuff so bare with me. I have an 06 Maxima and I’ve gotten the power wiring through the firewire and back into the trunk, I have a high low converter, but now im not sure what wires to tape into, which wires are for the left sub and right stock sub? And where do I tap the remote wire into so that the amp turns off when the car goes off. A step by step would be extremely appreciated at this point, and pictures would be almost orgasmic, the stress level is goin through the roof with these finals so getting this sub in will be extremely satisfying.
