I have a 92 GXE with the stock Bose stereo system. When I insert a tape the speakers will, within 2-10 minutes, start to pop very loudly (louder than the music I am playing), as well as rumble, etc... It almost sounds like when someone runs their finger over an old stereo needle. Also, I only get the right channel -- no stereo, when I play tapes (or a cd player with adapter).

This doesn't happen when I am listening to the radio.

I realized the car is getting old but I didn't know if anyone had an easy fix for this, or any suggestions at all. I have tried cleaning the heads with one of those cassette-shaped cleaners.
