I got a set of air horns to install in my I30 since the factory horns are sooo weak. I need to know what type of horn my car has though. I wanted to know if any of you know if the horn button is hooked to positive or to ground? I need to know because it changes how I have to hook up the relay that turns on the air compressor. I was wanting to see if anyone knew before I removed the steering column cover to try and find out. Thanks for the help!

the wire is the positive and it is grounded throught the housing thats on the bracket. you dont have to even go inside the car to install air horns.

are air horns good replacements for normal horns? will that be able to work with my alarm and to install all u do is take the positve lead from the old oem horn and hook it up to the new air horn and ground it right?

A) My experience is that alarm would stop beeping when you lock the car as compresor can't build enough pressure in a short burst. Normal "panic" mode would be fine though
B) No, air horns generally use more power than stock ones, you would have to run a sparate line with a relay from the battery to compressor and connect existing horn line to the controlling side of the relay.
