CVA 1003 install question

Hi Guys,

I hoping there will be someone here who can help me. I just bought a Alpine CVA 1003 and installed it in my '00 maxima. I cant get the video to work.

Currently, I dont have the CVA 1003's parking brake wire hooked up to anything. I only have the foot brake wire connected to a simple switch, with the other end of the switch connected to a ground (chasis). But even with this, Video still doesnt work.

Can anyone tell me how I am able to wire the handbrake and foot brake wire in such a way that I can watch video on my CVA 1003? I guess I need to help and explain to me how to bypass the CVA 1003 so I can get video.

Thanks for all your help.

What I have is two switches in the cupholder one is a push/on, release/off(brake) the other is a toggle switch(parking brake). So to access the video I:
1.Press and hold brake switch
2. Flip parking brake toggle twice.
3. Let go of first switch.

So what the system is thinking is foot is applied to brake...parking brake once, parking brake twice and it unlocks it.

That's how I have my CVA-1005 hooked up.

There's also a way to do this by grounding that park brake wire to "fool" the system into believing that the park brake is applied and therefore turn on the video. I don't really recommend this, as it might cause some legality issues in the state you're in, but I have it that way in my car and have no problems.
