question about MP3 CD changer

question about MP3 CD changer

I saw an ad for a 10 disc CD changer that plays MP3's. Will I need a headunit that plays MP3's in order to get that it to play MP3's?

The changer should decode the MP3 files and then send it to the HU. So you don't need a HU that play MP3 for the changer to work. You may have to make sure that the changer works with your HU unless the changer is hooked up via a FM modulator. Then the changer would work for all HU. I have the Sony MP3 10 disc changer hooked up to a stock non-Bose HU and I love it.
