do you have the Bose stereo? If not, then probably just the installation kit and the wire harness(maybe the antenna adapter). If you have Bose, you will need more....

Also, where in CT are you from?

Well, if you don't have Bose it should be a direct swap(deck for deck). The aftermarket deck has a different wiring setup, so you will need the wire harness to match the aftermarket deck wires to the Nissan wiring harness that connects into the factory deck. Also, the installation kit should make it easy to fit it into the dash. Personally, I have the Bose in my car so mine may be different. I'd have to see it to know if you need that antenna adapter too. At the least, I would suggest the wire kit and install kit. If you want to check the antenna, just pull out the radio and check before buying. here's a link on how to take it out of the dash. btw...I live in RI.

question

I have bose in my 96 maxima, and I am going to be installing a alpine hu in the place where the compartment is right now, and then swapping the bose hu with a 7 inch lcd. Can anyone give me a direct link to the cheapest place to buy the wiring harness, single din install plate for the compartment, and anything else I may nee. The search is down, and I have been reading through posts trying to find what exactly I need with no luck. On another ntoe if anyone in RI would like to help me do the install of my system once I finish buying the parts I am in RI near providence and I would be willing to pay, just as long as its gonna be less then the morons at best buy and circuit city are charging.

never did a LCD before, but I may be able to help you out. If you have Bose, I believe you need an adapter to convert the HU to a signal that the Bose amps can see. The other option is to replace and rewire the speakers.

well

Yeah I am gonna wait to get new speakers and a 4 channel amp, and for now just install a jl audio 10w7 or a diamond audio hex macdaddy 10.8 with either a JL 500.1 or a phoenix gold titanium 600.2. I am not sure yet but will be buying this stuff very soon. If you'd like to help me out I could meet you some day once I get all this stuff. Otherwise I have a feeling its gonna cost like 300$ to have everything installed, which is rediculous and I really would like to watch the install, so I can do further upgrades myself. I guess this goes for anyone in RI or southern MA that reads this that doesn't mind lending an afternoon. Now I just gotta find a link to the wiring harness for the 96 4th gen maxima to work with my alpine 7894 hu and the current speakers. Anybody got a link?

Since we both live in RI, we should hook up sometime. Are you going to go to the meet in MA at Solomon Pond Mall? It's on 4-12. Check out the northeast forum.
