looking at alpine spr's and infinity kappa(or reference) series to purchase asap

what do you guys prefer....

what has better bass

what has better mids

just curious y alpine has a low 50w rms power

alpine lasts...

I bought a Alpine 4 channel amp in 1994, the thing still works. I had it in 1987 Accord, a 1994 Sentra, then I put it in a 1998 Sentra....now it's sitting in my basement, waiting to find out where I can purchase a bose head unit converter...I will run my mids and hi's off it...

I used to have a set of Boston Pro-Series 5 and a quarters/tweeter component set...they sounded great running on that amp...

I would like to put some 6.5 Pro-Series all around, but I might need something a little stronger...or maybe not...who knows...

what I'm trying to say, is if Alpine makes speakers like they make amps....they make one durable speaker...


however, I did have a pair free-air Infiniti 10's, that I put in a oversized box (free air subs don't need a box--but a big box sure made those suckers TIGHT!) They did pretty well, but they were stolen...so I didn't get to see how durable they were...

sound diffence? I don't know...

what's the price diff?

well the price doesnt matter to me for what im gonna get (about 50) difference depending on what series infinity and whether i do 6.5 or 6x9 in the rear....buying off ebay

 

I say go with the Kappas because Infinity concentrates their engineering on speakers...they don't tinker with the other stuff (HU/AMPS)

Alpine makes great Head Units and decent amps...but I'd leave it at that...
