does using the fm modulator degrade sound quality? I notice a diffinite absence of highs in my music. Is this because of the modulator, or is it just the way satelite radio is?

 

I hope someone chimes in cause I'm debating on whether to install this system or get a tuner to go with my HU.

 

just get the aux in connection u can get them for oem hu and most after market ones

 

Im installing the Kenwood Reciever so it will hook right into the Sirius ready unit.

It shouldnt cause any difference in sound quality. The only time FM will not tune well is when the Sirius unit is on. When it is off the FM signal passes stright through the modulator.

Yes the FM mod degrades the quality. I have tweaked my EQ setting to eliminate most of the problems, but not all.

There is a noticable difference between the FM mod and going directly into a Sirius ready HU. I'm going to set mine up to use AUX in as soon as I get the right adapters.

 

If anybody cares I bought this adapter from Crutchfield for $14.99. Just a little bit cheaper than buying a XM tuner!
