Sub Q?
I currently hve 2 10" RFZ's in a Bandpass, runing off a 300 watt, dclass amp. It has enough bump, but it offten hits late, and with alot of distortion, it is not the amp, as i have heard it with other speakers, but I am wondering if I should change subs, box, or both? Suggestions on brands would help.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I think that the distortion is caused by the amp not being able to provide the subs with all the power they can handle.
With my first system I had a lot of distortion comming from my sub. I upgraaded my amp from a cheep 300w kenwood amp to a MTX Blue Thunder amp Which cleared up my distortion and made the sub sound amazing. To clear up the bass try facing the subs into the trunk not facing the seats. And try adjusting the gain control. RF Subs are verry good. So are MTX Subs, Kicker Makes some of the best ones therea are.
But for any sub you need to remember that the more powerfull the amp the better, don't ever say good enough when it comes to amps. I hope this helps.
