What is a speaker basket?

I know this is a stupid question but can somebody enlighten me on what it is? I am newb when it comes to car audio but I managed to install the speakers myself.

I installed a pair of Infinity Kappa 63.5 in the rear of my car a couple days ago. I was reading about the features of the speaker and it said something about the speaker baskets are magnetized. Are these baskets the same thing as grills that cover the speaker? Is it okay to use the stock grill because I didn't feel like drilling new holes for the grills that came with the speakers.

Any input is appreciated.

the basket is the frame of the speaker, and with infinity, i believe the baskets are plastic (non- magnetized) as to focus more of the magnetic firld around the voice coil
