Anyone try out the Infinity BassLink

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the Infinity BassLink. I found it on the net for $250. Seems like a good deal. Any opinions?

Ok man, best place to get any stereo equipment is ikesound.com. That place doesn't charge for shipping, and gives you uber good prices. I just finished purchasing my system, with an infinity basslink, and i couldn't be happier. gotta love infinity.

Well I will be honest so no need to flame if so. I installed two of them in the last month, one in a 2000 Dodge Intrepid and on in a 98 Accord coupe. Now in both cars they BANGING when the trunk is open, like SLAMMING bass.

When you shut the trunk, get barely any Bass. Even in the Intrepid when you lower the seats it still had no sound. I cant figure out for the life of me why the Bass is so nice when Im sitting in the car when the trunk is OPEN. Ive messed with all the configurations, 180phase, all that jazz.

So I highly NOT recommend them and lean heavily towards a Bazooka tube. Ive had three installed in my friends car and it hits even when the trunk is closed.

Maybe Im doing something wrong with the Basslink, but then again only like 3 different configs and I know I did them all and places it in different areas and everything, still nothing.

That is extremely weird. I wouldn't even know where to start on that one.

Yes the remote is included from Ikesound.com Everything you would get from the company comes from ikesound. Warranty, original box and equipment, the info packets, everything. It's exactly like buying from a retail place, but for no shipping, and almost half off on everything.

where was the basslink located? was it behing the seats facing the trunk opening, did you try placing it at the side or the rear of the trunk and checking the sound? sorry for all the questions just want to check every avenue before ruling out this option. thanks

We places it aiming directly at the rear seat and the other side aiming at the trunk opening, we got nothing. The we turned it 90* and got it aiming basically at the strut towers got nothing. Then we moved it to the center ot the trunk, still nothing. Then we places it flat down where one is aiming at the trunk floor and the other at the trunk ceiling, guess what? Still nothing.

location

Location is definitely important. I had mine corner loaded which should have maximized output. It was facing the driver's side rear corner all the way back of the car. I mounted it vertically. The thing had a huge 40hz peak which on some songs is really nice but other bass tones other than that were weak. If you are not picky about bass or maybe don't know what good bass is, the Basslink may be adequate.

Personally, I think you can spend not much more with the penalty of more hassle, size and space but get sooooo much better bass. I have a Lanzar mono sub amp (D2000M) feeding a single Dayton Loudspeaker 12" sub (DSQ) in a sealed box and the sound quality is TONS better than the basslink. The bass is deep, powerful, and quite visceral. A sub should definitely have useable output down to 20Hz--the Basslink doesn't. My basslink cost me $270. My current setup ran $400.
